Mr. G
In his over 30 years of outdoor experience, Shawn M. Grose (a.k.a Mr. G) has had many mentors, including Tom Brown, Jr, Jon Young, and many indigenous elders, but first and foremost, his mother. Shawn has developed a mentoring program called The Less Screen, More Green Challenge to connect families to nature.
Shawn draws on his experience as a tracker, naturalist, wilderness survival instructor, science teacher, and father of two boys.
Nature connection for our children
Nature connection means two things:
- The act of personally engaging with nature through sensory awareness & observation skills rather than memorizing facts or knowledge about nature.
- It also refers to the personal benefits that occur as a result of spending quality time in nature.
